Awareness among Pharmacy Students about Generic Medicines: A Cross-Sectional Study

Introduction: A generic drug is a pharmaceutical product that commonly used in place of branded medicine. Generic medications have the same therapeutic effect as their counterparts. The utilisation drugs critical for lowering rising health-care costs, and pharmacy students must thorough understanding medications. Methodology: present study was performed to assess awareness about medicines among first-year fourth-year bachelor at college Coastal Karnataka, India. An questionnaire prepared validated, distributed students. Simple descriptive statistics were produce frequencies, percentages, proportions. Microsoft Excel analyze data. During study, 200 enrolled. 10 questions asked out students’ answers they showed comparatively good knowledge medicines. Results: Out students, 181 answered are available Jan-Aushadi, 183 think there price variation between drugs, 123 approved equivalent 156 agreed no difference effectiveness 114 not long duration action than 87 opinion both made manufacturing facilities. Conclusion: confirmed had better compared There significant gap concerning medicines. Studies institution required. More work required on how interventions community can result an increase acceptability Awareness gaps use exist, be corrected through suitable education.
